Grinders Questions & Answers

Why Does The Complete Grinder Model Number Matter?

Different versions of a grinder family can use different wheel diameters and spindle threads. Use the full model designation when comparing specifications or ordering an abrasive, guard or spindle component.

What Should I Check Before Selecting A Grinding Wheel?

Check the permitted wheel type and diameter, the mounting dimensions and the speed rating. The abrasive must be suitable for the grinder’s rated speed and approved guarding. Follow the tool and abrasive manufacturers’ instructions.

Are All CP 3450 Spindle Threads The Same?

No. The manufacturer lists multiple spindle-thread configurations within the CP 3450 family. Read the exact model’s specification before selecting a threaded accessory; the family name by itself is not enough.

Does Free Speed Tell Me The Grinding Result?

Free speed is one specification to compare. The abrasive, material, task and tool configuration also matter. Choose an approved combination for the operation rather than selecting a grinder by its highest RPM alone.

Which Air-Consumption Figure Should I Use?

Check whether the specification describes airflow at load or at free speed, and keep the stated test conditions with the number. Use the manufacturer’s air-supply and hose requirements for the particular grinder.

How Do I Find Guards And Replacement Parts?

Use the full grinder model and the applicable parts drawing to identify guards, handles and internal components. Include the component part number and model suffix with your request. Find Grinder Drawings →
