Drill Rigs
Compare E-Z Drill rigs for concrete dowel-hole drilling by hole diameter, drilling depth and available working space. Review the rig’s positioning, drill motor and air requirements as a complete system. The smallest patch or opening you need to work in can be just as important as the hole size. Selection Guide
Choosing A Pneumatic Drill Rig
Begin with the hole layout and jobsite dimensions before selecting the rig and drill steel.
1 Measure The Job
Record hole diameter, depth, slab dimensions and the space available to position the rig.
2 Compare Rig Configurations
Check drilling orientation, number of drills and the motor and steel fitted to the selected model.
3 Plan The Air Supply
Check the complete rig’s airflow and hose requirements, including any optional equipment.
Drill Rigs Questions & Answers
Why Does Minimum Patch Size Matter?
A rig needs room to position the drill and complete its feed travel. Compare the available opening with the model’s minimum patch or working-space dimensions. A rig that can drill the required hole may still need more room than the job provides.
Can Every Rig Drill Horizontally And Vertically?
Check the orientation listed for the exact model and whether a conversion kit is required. Do not assume that the base rig includes every setup pictured in a brochure. Confirm the configuration you want when requesting a quote.
How Should I Compare Hole Diameter And Depth?
Use the rig’s listed drilling range together with the drill motor and steel configuration. Check the required working length and guide components. State the actual finished hole dimensions when asking for a recommendation.
Does A Two-Drill Rig Need The Same Compressor As A Single-Drill Rig?
Do not assume equal air demand. Compare the minimum air consumption and hose requirements for the complete rig. Optional equipment such as dust collection may also change the air requirement.
How Do I Choose Drill Steel For A Rig?
Identify the fitted drill motor, its chuck connection, the required bit diameter and the rig’s guide arrangement. The rig model alone may not identify every component of the drilling assembly. Compare Rock Bits & Drill Rods →
How Do I Find The Correct Rig Parts Book?
Have the rig model and serial number ready, along with the drill motor identification. Parts books may cover different serial ranges, and motor components can be shown separately from the rig frame. Find Drill Rig Drawings →
