Rock Drills

Compare pneumatic rock drills by chuck dimensions, tool weight, drilling specifications and air requirements. Start with the hole diameter and depth, then choose the matching drill-steel and bit system. A drill’s shank connection and a bit’s thread are different parts of the setup. Open a model to select its configuration and review the compatible rods and bits. Compare Rock Bits & Drill Rods → Read the complete rock-drill selection guide → Selection guide below →

Selection Guide

Choosing A Pneumatic Rock Drill

Match the drill, rod and bit at each connection instead of choosing the bit diameter alone.

1 Define The Hole

Identify the material, hole diameter, depth and working position.

2 Match Both Connections

Check the rod shank at the drill and the bit connection at the other end of the rod.

3 Review The Complete Setup

Compare drill weight, air requirements and the manufacturer’s operating instructions.

Rock Drills Questions & Answers

What Should I Compare When Choosing A Rock Drill?

Start with the required hole and the material, then compare the drill’s stated capabilities, weight and air consumption. Include the working position and access limits when requesting help with a model selection.

What Do Shank Letters Such As B Or F Mean?

They identify catalog configurations. Read the complete shank dimensions alongside the letter and match those measurements to the drill steel. The letter alone is not enough to establish compatibility across different products or manufacturers.

Are H Thread, R25 And Other Bit Systems Interchangeable?

Each bit must match the rod’s specified connection system. A similar bit diameter or appearance does not make different threads interchangeable. Identify both the drill-end shank and the bit-end connection before choosing replacement components. Compare Rock Bits & Drill Rods →

How Do I Choose Rod Length And Bit Diameter?

Use the finished hole diameter and required depth, then check the selected drill’s limits and the rod-and-bit system. Distinguish overall rod length from any stated usable drilling length; ask for clarification when the listing does not specify the measurement.

Can I Use The Same Compressor For Every Rock Drill?

Compare the individual models’ airflow and pressure requirements. Drill size and configuration can change the required supply. Check the listed hose and inlet connections as well as the CFM figure. Browse Air & Whip Hoses →

How Do I Find Parts For My Rock Drill?

Use the full brand, model and configuration, including the shank option where relevant. Find the component on the matching drawing and include the part number with your request. Find Rock Drill Drawings →
